Fire pit made of corten steel When compared to conventional fire pits, pero is a refreshing innovation. The bowl can be used on its own, or it can be mounted on a rack made of Corten (sold separately) that complements the bowl's design and creates a complete, aesthetically pleasing installation. The material used to create the Pero fire bowl is highly long-lasting and resistant to harsh weather conditions; it does not need to be maintained, and its properties do not degrade over time. The bowl is made of corten, a weathering form of steel developed to prevent the need to paint steel for protection. Copper, chromium, nickel, and phosphorus are just some of the components that give it its superior corrosion and weather resistance. Copper oxides are released on the surface of items manufactured of corten through the appropriate selection of alloying components, creating a thin coating. This coating, on the other hand, is airtight, long-lasting, and doesn't eat into the material at all, so there's no reduction in sheet thickness and no flaking. As a result, items constructed from corten steel last a long time and need minimal upkeep.
